okay so my blogging has been just about the worst times five billion, my brother in law informed me that i have blogged that same phrase 5 times in the last 6 months so im resolving to do better ... and then TADA i found this little challenge which i hope will help me be a better blogger. i realize im a week late but im over it, so im starting tomorrow. cross your fingers for me to keep this up!

i will freely admit that i have failed miserably in bringing home ANY decent pictures of mr. coberly and i from this past week - gah. i made mr. coberly come with me on a business trip to do a site-visit at disneyworld in florida (i know my job is awful isnt it :0) being an attorney that can work from anywhere for a few days has its perks for the hubbs. i spent my days in meetings and he spent his playing at disneyworld (now what?) we did have lots of fun, it rained a lot (picture 1 is me waiting in the car for mr. coberly while it rained and he got stuck in it) we park hopped our way through all of the parks - hand down best ride was the rockin' rollercoaster at hollywood studios. we didnt wait in a line longer than 10 minutes so we rode all of them about 6 times - and then died of humid/heat exhaust.

we stayed at saratoga springs which made it a quick trip to our $10 pretzels and $5 cups of water- freaking rediculous. but seriously BEST people watching ever.

this is the problem with having facebook and living back in the great state of where my family people live ... i forget to blog about things like impulse. You know impulse? that thing that makes you buy expensive shoes and jump off cliffs and yell at people in the grocery store for doing dumb things?

ya well i blame it for forcing me to cut my hair off. I had grand intentions of going in for a trim and somehow i came out into the bright bright sun from the salon with 5 inches less hair ... i think it might have started when the stylist tried to convince me to get those horrible feather things people have in their hair no - cool if you are 16/17, NOT if you are 30. So maybe I blame impulse + Mark. But then again maybe I should thank both because my monthly conditioner bill went WAY down - well and because frankly i love my new 'do.

sometimes one single location on this earth warrants is very own post on the blog that alyssa forgot (aka Monkey Chatter). We can zero in on one amazing top secret (feels like your very own) beach in beautiful san diego.

while in san diego for a friends wedding we spent a chunk-o-time with our adorable family (mr. coberly's brother + wifey + kidlets x 3) and they took us to this magical rock land of a beach where we played 'who can find the most round rock' you would not believe how many rocks i hauled up the side of a cliff to bring home in my suitcase (one happily sitting here keeping my papers from blowing off my desk)

mr. coberly and said brother in law mr. coberly and adorable nephew hayes throwing giant rocks into the sea um rocks? you would be suprised how many pictures i have like this - i couldnt stop taking pictures ... they are all so pretty yup more rocks + water this time (bet you didnt see that curveball)rocks + water + feet (i mean i know im blowing your mind right now)

today is my birthday - i am 28 years old and happy as a clam (which really how happy are clams? something to ponder)

I am 28 and married to a wonderful man, have a wonderful family whom i adore (both sides) and just spent the most romantical (spoiled rotten - hotel park city private suite with hot tub on balcony, um 3 pastries in one day & an ipad2, you bet) weekend away from the laptop and all the worries that come with being a 28 year old adult.

an ode to shoes at yellowstone ... first up my little nephew roman (roro) and I on the beach at yellowstone lakeon the boardwalk at mammoth (this was my proof that you can wear a skirt/dress at yellowstone for hiking/campfiring and all) oh ya and i rocked a fanny pack the whole trip - SO much better than a backpack hiking hiking in my skirt and the vegas phrase does not transfer to yellowstone ... what happened in yellowstone came right home with me 1)my new favorite bracelet - the copper horses 2) 9 million mosquito bites 3) candy corn layered sun burn on my arms and 4) the rockin' tan line on my feet (see photos 1, 2 and 3)

I'm really not into the whole maxi dress/skirt thing (so much fabric to fuss with)... which is suprising considering i only wear dresses you would think i would be open to many options. That being said I picked up this vintage maxi dress (its one of those full on hippie-dippie ones that is a tube top on, well top) and i must admit to mr. coberly that i feel like i am cheating on him i love it so much ... i have been wearing it under a vintage jcrew sweatshirt (sans hood) and i could die happy right this second. In fact I am wearing this very same thing right now ... *sigh* vintage i heart you.

MY THREE PICTURES ... a new game I'm playing on my blog - because I am turning into the worlds worst blogger, might have something to do with the fact that my new job is eating me ALIVE - did I mention I have a new job? I'm now the Events Manager at doTERRA which means this week I'm planning Australia (4 location tour), Europe (5 location tour), Japan (5 location tour) and trying to plan the words best convention this fall (my brain hurts) BUT I LOVE IT ... this is my dream job - hands down the most fun and creative job I have had to date - but it is keeping me B-U-S-Y.

SO anyways new game = MY THREE PICTURES, where I will post three pictures and then blab on about why I love them: 1. some pictures just dont need words, because seriously? amazing and hilarious, just the right touch of haha without cheese 2. im currently obsessed with this outfit, and not just because her bag cost more than a years worth of rent - i think its the skirt - i love the idea of long skirts again 3. Sometimes you need a little sunshine on a cloudy day (um wait isnt that a line from a song? cheesefest). And really my quest for a toothpaste that doesnt have things in it that i would never 'eat' started pre doTERRA days. And so let me introduce Tooth Chips (not doTERRA) - - ya they look like fingernails I know but I'm very prepared to honestly and truly judge these for their teeth cleaning abilities ... so as soon as they arrive on my doorstep the reviews will begin. I did get spearmint flavor (not quite ready for citrus)

One of my clients just sent me over these pictures of her little buggies birthday party - I designed a bunch of the party bits for her (invites etc.) her theme was sheep in a jeep (his favorite book) ... I'm working on a party right now for a little Inga who is turning 2 - so pics of that soon!

i think the star of the show was her adorable cotton ball garland that she made - i LOVE it!

we did favor boxes with a jig tshirt and then her mom made those adorable little sheep!

I chopped my locks last weekend - - like 5 inches (eek!) it needed a little TLC and looks amazing and healthy and I had a free haircut in my back pocket so I decided sure why not ... mr. coberly wasnt thrilled when i first walked in because she had flat ironed it to an inch of its life - - once I did it normal he loved me again (im kidding im kidding he always loves me, just likes me better with non flat hair)

anyhow now im considering going dark (gasp) i guess moving across the country and starting a new job makes you want to go crazy! (ps mr. coberly is totally on board on this idea of dark)

my favorite was mr. coberlys suprise daily journal/planner all the way from new zealand! - - i heart it mega mega mucho ... so much in fact that im terrified to write in it because its so pretty.

well Im here ... in my new home Utah - - love seeing family and friends and the weather decided to give me a nice heaping pile of snow (8" heaping) but unlike chicago when it snows in utah then its beautiful and blue skies and happy happy dry roads (aka no ice). So while everyone is complaining of the 30 degree weather Im THRILLED its not -15 wind chill. and more excitingly I have landed a new jobby job - I'll be the Executive Assistant to the founding executives at a company called doTERRA ... the job sounds amazing and incredibly challenging (I start tomorrow) I beat out 200 others which has added a gold star to my ego boost flag...so Im looking forward to a new adventure (and being able to shop at DownEast again!)

and I will try to be a better blogger this week!

we break this radio silence to bring you a special broadcast from my hotel room in Cheyenne Wyoming ... what the what you ask? you know those jimmy john commercials where they tell a story really really fast? k well this is like that : moving to utah was going to drive with mr coberly and the moving truck, got a job interview wanted me there on the 29th, mr coberly still had some cases at his firm to wrap up in chicago so alyssa is driving 23 hours all by her lonesome (save for the little goosey mama) had an hourly check in and full on anxiety by family members (no trust in my mad driving skills ... probably because im asleep within 15 minutes of leaving home no matter the length of the trip) FEAR NOT all is well and now Im having a little chipotle and watching the office and wearing my shoes still because i found a mysterious stain on the floor (dont worry mom its a la quinta inn, plenty fine). whew ... stay tuned for hopefully a new job announcement!

ps : quote of the day by my darling nephew gabers who when waking up this morning (i pulled into ames post bedtime) opened the door to his bedroom to find goosey standing there and he said "mommy! you bought me a dog" hehe ...

HAP HAP HAPPY halloween ... I spent last week FINALLY getting my decorations up (a bit behind here)

the glitter bones were joined by spooky tableclothes and yummy bartlett pairs (okay youre right those pears just happen to have just come home with me from traders joes and they remind me to take them in the morning)

most of halloween lives on the armoire ... including my fun cinderella pumpkins (i hope they last a couple weeks after halloween because im really loving them) i also whipped up a batch of poison (which you cant really see its greeness in this pic but trust me it makes you run for cover)

glitter chandeliers and a full shot here apparently i really like glitter ... didnt realize i had so many sparkly spookie spook going on here - - best find ever? the vintage edgar allen poe book i got a couple years ago
